Scott Srossfield at EAA
— Juergen A.Koehn
I read his book "Always Another Dawn" in early 1965,the book was my inspiration to take up flying.Fast forward and 2000x hours later I was waiting with two friends for the schoolbus at the North West Corner at Wittman Field one early muggy morning a couple of years ago at OSH.Several buses went by full as well as many EAA vehicles with only the driver in most cases. On my way to a forum by Scott,we resigned to start the long hike around the East/West runway.A golfcart with an elderly gentleman in a strawhat driving and his EAA handler came to a sudden stop. The gentleman held up two fingers,I held up three,he waved for us to get on the back and than carefully placed his finger between the rear fender of the cart and tire to make sure it had sufficient clearance.Off we went, the driver,no other than Scott Crossfield.
