In partnership with the National Aviation Hall of Fame, a sub committee of the Scott Crossfield Foundation screens the nominations and selects the winner annually. The candidate nomination package must be received by the NAHF office on or before May 1st each year. Any nomination package received after the dead line will be considered the following year.

Helpful Hints

In order to make your nominee more competitive, please make your nomination package as thorough, comprehensive and documented as possible. This may include detailed narratives and pictures (non-returnable) of the nominee, for example. Once a nomination package has been submitted, it may always be updated with additional information as it becomes available.

Areas to consider when developing your nomination package:

1.   Your personal letter describing why your nominee deserves to receive this award.

2.   A letter of endorsement of you nominee by their school principal, on school letterhead.

3.   Detail as concisely as possible your nominee’s previous teaching positions, including schools, dates, levels and/or disciplines, including any honors and awards received by your nominee.

4.   A synopsis (250 words maximum) of your nominee’s community involvement and efforts to improve their own academic competence and show how this has enhanced aerospace education.

5.   Letters from students and/or parents that demonstrates the nominee’s exemplary teaching and an admiration by their students.

6.   Photographs of classroom activities, field trips, special events, etc., that show:

·      Creativity in developing and utilizing materials to enhance the teaching of aerospace.

·      Student involvement and classroom activities that improve the learning by the student.

 

OR

 

A one-time project or program of such significance that it had a major impact on the teaching or aerospace education.  Attachments must include a written report (1000 words maximum), accompanied by photographs and letters of endorsement indicating the scope of the project’s impact.

 

Nominee must be able to accept the award in person at the President's Dinner during the National Aviation Hall of Fame's Enshrinement Weekend.

Nominations should address ALL listed areas and criteria.

Submissions will not be returned to the applicant.
